Ho Ho Ho!

Brogan's 1st Christmas was so fun! We went several places on Christmas day, and continued our Christmas celebrations afterwords. It was a lot of fun to visit family and friends. Brogan made out like a bandit w/ his gifts. Everyone was far too generous. I'm sure within the next couple of months, he will love his toys that he got from Santa and from family.

Brogan loves to talk

We tried capturing Brogan cooing with Dad while playing. He loves talking when he plays!

A Busy December Weekend

Saturday the 13th marked my 29th birthday. I am officially in the last year of my twenties. We played with Brogan all day, and then on Saturday night, Nick insisted on having a date night. (I was sad to leave Brogan behind. I wanted to take him with us!) So, my mom and aunt babysat Brogan while Nick and I enjoyed a tastey steak at Texas Roadhouse. Afterwards, we went out for a drink (well I had a Sprite) and a delicious brownie dessert at Granite City.

I played with Grandma. Happy Birthday Mom!

Nick and Brogan got me some gorgeous pink/peach/orange roses and a beautiful bracelet that has my birthstone (Blue Topaz) and Brogan's (Saphire) in it. It's a bracelet that can keep adding different stones to it in the future. I love it!

Then today (Sunday the 14th), we had the GreatAmerica Children's Christmas party. This was Brogan's first encounter with Santa, and he didn't even run the other way when he saw him. :) This was Brogan's very first gift from Santa. He gave Brogan 2 new rattles, one that looks like a telephone and is the perfect size for Brogan to hold onto himself. He loves playing with them!

Flying Solo

This weekend is Nick's annual deer hunting trip to southern Iowa. So it's Brogan, Wrigley, Max, and I hanging out all weekend. I thought I would post some pictures of our fun filled weekend of escaping the bitter cold!

I love looking at myself in the mirror!

I like the taste of my fist. Just trying to figure out how to get my thumb in there.

Bath time is so fun!

We're Not In Kansas Anymore

This last Thanksgiving weekend, Nick, Brogan, my mom, and I traveled to my brother's house. It was a great trip! Brogan behaved on the way there. Only had to stop once!

When we awoke on Saturday morning we were greeted by the cheerful words of Jack, "Grandma, Nick, Anne!" (well, there may have been more "Nick"s than Grandma or Anne. Jack LOVES Nick) :)

On Saturday we celebrated Thanksgiving with the family. Towards the end of our meal, Jack was getting a little antsy so Carrie decided to knock on the table and tell Jack that that was Santa at the window watching. He kept looking at the window and then would point and say, "No Santa!" Oh what we have to look forward to in 2 years!

That night we were entertained with one of those mystery dinner reenactments, although we didn't dress up. It turns out it was Gabby Gobbler (Nick) who killed Ramsey Gordon by blowing up his oven where he cooked his marvelous turkeys. It was a lot of fun!

Max and Brogan passed out from the excitement

On Sunday, we went and got our pictures taken. We went to have the 3 cousins and Grandmas picture taken. You can check out a sample of the pictures by visiting the photographer's blog. http://www.christinalundeen.com/ It turns out she's originally from Ft. Dodge. The pictures turned out so cute!

Next came our adventure home. Sunday we woke up to snow. But it was worse driving home! The interstate was covered in ice and snow. In a 1 mile distance, we counted 6 cars in the ditch. Brogan slept through it and we made it home safely!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Little Turkey

Grandma Mary, Mom, & Brogan

Today was Brogan's 1st Thanksgiving. He enjoyed eating turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole and much more. He especially loved the desserts! What is better than a piece of pumpkin pie piled high with Cool Whip?
We enjoyed getting to spend some time with many of our aunts, uncles, cousins, great grandparents, and Brogan's grandparents. It was a long day, but a lot of fun. Gobble, Gobble!

We are leaving for Kansas City tomorrow afternoon to visit my brother and his family. My nephew, Jack, loves Nick. It's so fun to see them play together. I want to kiss Max's cheeks all day long! Next year will be such a blast. Watch out world!!

The Ironside Family

I decided to start this blog to keep everyone updated on our lives as the Ironside family, no longer just Nick and Anne.
Brogan Thomas Ironside was born on Thursday, September 25, 2008. He weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs 6 oz, and was 22 1/2 inches long. We can't help to give him lots of hugs and kisses on those cute chubby cheeks! We figure that this blog will be a fun way to share pictures of our bundle of joy! We hope that you enjoy our new blog, and visit often!
Love,
Anne, Nick, and Brogan (and we can't forget Wrigley and Max of course)
